In 2016, Camp Creation was held in Prichard, AL. where all children showed improvement and over 60% of the children showed improvement in at least one academic area. In 2017, we received approval to work with Foley Elementary. We were so thrilled after assessing our students the first week of Camp and again in the last week 93% of our children showed improvement in both Math and Reading. Our certified teachers from last summer have all agreed to come back again this summer.
One camper from 2017 said, "I learned multiplication.. now I know 7X7 and much more. I learned division, reading and how to be myself."
"The care and concern of the individual child is addressed through special attention, healthy meals, constructive socialization and positive encouragement."- Camp Creation Donor
"Camp Creation is a diamond in our midst. Camp Creation is by far the most complete, effective and genuine service opportunity for my students that I have ever encountered." -Youth Leader
The mission of Camp Creation is simple: God created you; God loves you; Love one another. Camp Creation is worth investing in because children are worth investing in. Opportunities such as Camp Creation are too scarce in our communities, unfortunately. Camp Creation offers parents a safe and structured environment for their children to spend a good portion of their summer; it offers students an opportunity to continue learning while discovering new talents and strengths; and it offers communities a base of children who know who created them, know that they are loved, and who can and will love one another. I sincerely hope you will consider supporting Camp Creation. I can think of no better investment. Melinda L. Seiter Parish Ministry Coordinator St. Ignatius Parish, Mobile, Al
Britton, a 7th grader who volunteered as a camp buddy at Camp Creation in 2016 wrote: "Camp Creation was a great experience for me. I had so much fun playing with the kids and helping them with their faith. I got to play and help kids who wouldn’t normally have people to play with them. We were in one of the poorer parts of Mobile, and the kids did not have a lot, but what they had made them happy. Seeing this made me so much more thankful for what I have and show die that you do not need a lot of things to be happy. Camp Creation showed me that we all have different chances, opportunities, and skills and that we should use all of these to grow close rot God and eventually get to heaven. We prayed daily thanking God for the shoe son our feet and the clothes on our back, and Camp Creation really gave me an idea of what that meant." -Britton Cooper
